About Nathanial Hammond & Alexandria Hammond

The BlackJack Men's Gymnastics Championships is hosted by twins Nathanial (Nat) and Alexandria (Alex) Hammond. Both began gymnastics at eight years of age and trained under previous Blackjack competition director, Dusty Ritter. Continuing the mission started by Dusty in 1995, Blackjack's goal is to provide an Olympic-style experience for young gymnasts of all ages.

Nat Hammond

Nat Hammond was a former Junior National team member and has 38 years of experience as an athlete, coach, judge, and assistant competition director. After high school, Nat competed for four years at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, serving as team captain during his junior and senior year. He retired from competition in 1999, but continued to be involved as a coach and judge. Nat currently has an international FIG (Federation Internationale de Gymnastique) judges rating and is serving as the Operations and Education Director of Region 1. The US is divided into nine regions for men's gymnastics. Region 1 includes California (north & south), Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii.

Alex Hammond

Alex Hammond competed in gymnastics throughout high school up to level 8. After high school, she attended University of Nevada, Reno and later Temple University School of Dentistry. She received her Doctorate of Medical Dentistry degree in 2004 and moved back to Las Vegas to begin her career. After ten years away from the sport, Alex certified as a women's gymnastics judge. With Nat's urging, she also successfully tested to become a men's judge. She currently serves as the Nevada Women's State Judging Director and is a Nationally rated men's and women's gymnastics judge.
